"And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?" -Daniel 4:35
Thus said a once arrogant king who was shamefully humbled. After lifting himself up and declaring what great things he had done, "he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws." -Daniel 4:33
It is easy, though foolish, to get lifted up in pride. When we let our minds wander and let ourselves get puffed up with thinking of our great accomplishments and how wonderful we are, we are traversing a dangerous path. We would do well to remember how small we are and how big God is. God is able to raise up kings and to cast them down. Nebuchadnezzar learned his lesson after being humbled by God and gave Him due praise and honor. We can do no less. Daniel 4:37 "...those who walk in pride he is able to abase."

I find it exceedingly interesting that you should mention that verse since that particular verse was on my mind a lot last week. It's definitly a verse to humble you and make you realize just how small and insignificant you are compared to a holy God. What keeps me constantly amazed is how that that same holy, righteous God would send His only Son to die to save a people so lowly and sinful as we humans are.
Very convicting. When we get caught up in our accomplishments, we tend to forget that God made it possible. We rely and glory in our own strength, forgetting that our strength is through Christ.
